Brought to you by Africa Creative Agency (ACA), WAV Festival expands to two South African cities for its second edition, celebrating R&B reimagined in some of the world’s most beautiful cities.
WAV Festival is back in January 2027, expanding to a second South African city for its sophomore edition and bringing its celebration of R&B to Cape Town and Pretoria.
Founded by Africa Creative Agency (ACA), WAV returns to Cape Town on Saturday, 2 January 2027, before making its Pretoria debut at SunBet Arena on Sunday, 3 January 2027.
Headlining both dates are two international R&B favourites, Ty Dolla $ign and KWN, bringing together two distinct perspectives on where the genre sits today.

With a catalogue that spans R&B, hip-hop and pop, and collaborations with some of the biggest names in music, Ty Dolla $ign has established himself as one of contemporary R&B’s most recognisable voices. Joining him is British R&B artist KWN, whose emotionally charged sound and distinctive approach to the genre have quickly made her one of the UK’s most exciting new voices.
Together, their performances set the tone for WAV 2027, a festival that celebrates where R&B comes from while making room for where it is going next.
More than a music festival, WAV sits at the intersection of music, culture, fashion and connection, bringing global sounds into conversation with African creativity and perspective. The festival is rooted in the timeless spirit of R&B while offering a contemporary experience shaped by the cities and communities it enters.
WAV is excited to partner with Bernini as its official cider, beer and RTD partner and to present the Bernini Golden Circle. The partnership brings together two brands rooted in music, culture and unforgettable social experiences, adding another layer to the WAV festival experience across both Cape Town and Pretoria.
Following its debut in Cape Town in 2026, WAV will now expand its footprint to Pretoria, giving audiences across South Africa two opportunities to experience the festival across one weekend.
“We’re excited to take WAV to the next level in 2027,” says Colin Gayle, CEO of Africa Creative Agency. “Cape Town gave us the perfect beginning, and expanding to Pretoria allows us to bring the WAV experience to even more R&B fans across South Africa. Having Ty Dolla $ign and KWN lead the line-up is a strong reflection of where contemporary R&B is today, and the role Africa continues to play in shaping its future.”
