Y Announces Exciting Changes At The Station

Y, SA’s premier youth radio station is excited to announce a series of thrilling updates, including the launch of its brand-new Lunch League Show and notable changes to its on-air lineup. 

Starting this Monday, 2nd September 2024, the station will introduce the new and improved Lunch League Show featuring the dynamic duo of Fresh By Caddy and Yvette Floss as they take over the lunch time with their midday slot from 12- 3PM.

Yvette Floss, a familiar and already cherished voice on Y, has been a key player in the station’s lineup previously hosting ‘Nights Like This’ on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings for the past two years. Her impressive track record also includes standing in for daytime presenters, showcasing her versatility and dedication to the station.

The new Lunch League Show promises an invigorating blend of entertainment, music, and interactive segments designed to make lunchtime a highlight of the day for listeners. With Fresh By Caddy and Yvette Floss at the helm, listeners can anticipate an engaging and lively show that will set the tone for the rest of the afternoon.

In conjunction with this exciting announcement, Y is also switching up its evening programming this coming week.

In addition to her popular Saturday show, ‘The Rizz’, renowned media personality Shamiso Mosaka will take over Yvette Floss’s former slot on ‘Nights Like This’, bringing her own vibrant energy and insightful commentary to the show on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10pm-12am.

       “Y is amped to announce a fresh chapter with the launch of our new Lunch League Show which is set to make afternoons the most exciting part of the day. Y has always been at the forefront of nurturing and growing talent and we are so proud that again, we are able to showcase growth and opportunities for our talent” said Y’s Managing Director, Haseena Cassim.

Adding to the excitement, all three personalities – Fresh By Caddy, Yvette Floss, and Shamiso Mosaka alongside other Y favs Hype and Zingah, will be featured on the cover of this month’s issue of Hype Magazine. The magazine cover story highlights Y’s contributions to the radio industry and offers a glimpse into what to look forward to from Y. 

Phindile Ziqubu, Y Content Manager affirmed “As we usher in a new era at the station, we have no doubt that these changes will only amplify our already kick-ass line-up. We remain committed to giving our audiences the best in entertaining, empowering and energetic content across the Y programming.”

Tune in next week to catch Fresh By Caddy and Yvette Floss on the Lunch League Show, and don’t miss Shamiso Mosaka on ‘Nights Like This’ and ‘The Rizz’.
