After a triumphant return to Johannesburg, Old Mutual Music in The Gardens is excited to announce its second concert in the series, featuring two of South Africa’s brightest stars, Lloyiso and Shekhinah, on Sunday, 13 October 2024 at the concert area of the Johannesburg Botanical Gardens in Emmarentia.

Imagine a stunning spring afternoon at the Johannesburg Botanical Gardens, where families and music lovers gather to experience an unforgettable day filled with live music and nature. Nestled in the heart of Emmarentia, the lush gardens offer the perfect backdrop for a day of soulful performances, fresh air, and good company. Spread out your picnic blankets, relax under the shade of beach-style umbrellas, and enjoy a beautiful afternoon surrounded by the tranquil beauty of the gardens.

This family-friendly event invites you to bring your food and make it a true, authentic picnic experience. While drinks and hard cooler boxes are not allowed, vendors will be on site offering refreshments. You are welcome to bring tiny beach umbrellas and camping chairs and soak in the laid-back festival vibe. Please note that gazebos and pass-outs will not be allowed during the event.

“Old Mutual is thrilled to host the second concert in the Music in the Gardens series, which has become a highlight in Johannesburg’s cultural calendar. Joburg’s next concert lineup, featuring the extraordinary talents of Lloyiso and Shekhinah, promises to deliver an unparalleled musical experience. We are proud to support events that entertain and create spaces for community connection amidst the beauty of nature. We look forward to welcoming everyone to what will undoubtedly be an unforgettable day,” says Bandile Mngoma, Old Mutual Senior Manager for Sponsorships.
