Lazi Mathebula: The Boy Is Doing It: A bright future for every child.

Eight South African artists create limited-edition prints and totes inspired by causes supported through Naked’s surplus-donation model; pre-orders open until 14 November 2025

Naked, the fully digital insurance platform, has launched The Art of Making a Difference, a curated collection of graphic-poster artworks created in collaboration with eight South African artists. Each artwork represents a different cause supported through the Naked Difference — the company’s model of donating any surplus funds from its claims pool to customer-selected charities at the end of the financial year.

The collection comprises original works and associated products (limited-edition prints and tote bags). Pre-orders for the prints and tote bags are open until 14 November 2025, with all profits from sales donated directly to the causes depicted in the artworks.

Artists, artworks and the causes they represent

The participating artists and their commissioned pieces are:

  1. Lazi Mathebula – The Boy Is Doing It — inspired by Door of Hope (child-focused support).

  2. Xia Carstens – Fly High — inspired by Greenpop (reforestation).

  3. Ziyaad Samsodien – Dog Park — inspired by Oscars Arc WOOF Project (animal rescue and adoption).

  4. Imile Wepener – Embrace — inspired by Cotlands (early childhood development).

  5. Phathutshedzo Nembilwi – Sunday Lunch — inspired by The Kolisi Foundation (community support and empowerment).

  6. Eva Faerch – Teaching to Fish — inspired by ForAfrika (food security and livelihoods).

  7. Studio Muti – Good Morning Sunshine — inspired by Good Morning Angels (community welfare).

  8. Studio Muti – Delta Park — inspired by Jozi Trails (accessible shared spaces).

Each artwork is presented as a graphic poster that narrates the mission and impact of the associated organisation.

How the Naked Difference works (funding model)

Naked operates on a model in which the company charges a flat fee to cover running costs; the remainder of customer premiums is placed into a shared claims pool. At the end of the financial year, if there are surplus funds in that pool, those funds are donated to causes selected by Naked customers through the Naked Difference programme. Naked states this approach aims to remove the conflict of interest inherent in traditional insurance models by ensuring surplus funds support community causes rather than company profits.

For 2025, Naked has earmarked R1.1 million for distribution to customer-chosen causes. Since 2020, the company reports it has donated a total of R4.3 million through the Naked Difference.

Product availability and proceeds

  • Pre-orders for limited-edition prints and tote bags are available via Naked’s online shop (shop.naked.insure/pages/naked-difference) until 14 November 2025.

  • All profits from print and tote sales are being directed to the causes represented by the artworks.

  • Naked has stated that the campaign will be promoted via its social channels and that further behind-the-scenes content (studio visits and artist stories) will be shared in the company’s online channels.

Company statement

Sumarie Greybe, co-founder of Naked, is quoted in the company announcement: “The artists have created stunning artworks that capture how our partners are shaping a better South Africa. We love how these beautiful artworks bring the causes to life and help people to connect with the groundbreaking organisations and the dedicated people who work tirelessly to uplift communities and create a brighter future for all.”

How to purchase and view the collection

The artworks, product details and pre-order links are available on the Naked online shop at: https://shop.naked.insure/pages/naked-difference. Naked’s public posts and product pages confirm the pre-order window and artist attributions.
