South African motorsport and LEGO® fans were treated to a once-in-a-lifetime spectacle as LEGO® South Africa unveiled the country’s largest life-size LEGO build ever — a jaw-dropping replica of the Mercedes-AMG F1 W14 E Performance. Shipped all the way from Singapore, this full-scale LEGO® Technic masterpiece marks a new milestone in creative engineering and innovation.
The grand reveal took place at the Mercedes-Benz Experience Centre at Zwartkops Raceway, where members of the media, LEGO enthusiasts, and car lovers gathered to witness the high-octane unboxing of the 913-kilogram creation — a true meeting of motorsport precision and childhood wonder.
“The reveal forms part of LEGO South Africa’s ongoing commitment to celebrating creativity and innovation through play,” said Valery Kasimov, Country Manager for LEGO South Africa.
“This collaboration between LEGO South Africa and Mercedes-Benz is built on shared values of precision, performance and excellence,” added Claudius Steinhoff, Executive Director MBC & Co-CEO of Mercedes-Benz South Africa. “The LEGO Mercedes-AMG Formula 1 car celebrates our achievements at the pinnacle of motorsport and reflects the innovation, craftsmanship and passion that unite both brands.”
A Masterpiece in Motion
Based on the 1642-piece LEGO® Technic set available in stores, this life-sized build took a team of expert builders eight hours to assemble. Using 192,937 LEGO bricks, the result is a breathtaking replica that weighs approximately 913 kilograms and measures 5.1 metres long and 2.2 metres wide.
From its aerodynamic curves to its iconic AMG detailing, every element mirrors the sleek performance and style of the real Mercedes-AMG F1 W14 E Performance. The build blurs the lines between engineering and imagination, proving that creativity truly knows no limits.
