The global rise of padel has been impossible to ignore. Over the past decade, the fast-paced racquet sport has transformed from a niche pastime into a worldwide phenomenon played by millions. Now, a new digital partnership promises to take that momentum even further.
South African sports-tech platform Discover Sport has announced a major global broadcast partnership with Padel Time TV, opening the door for fans in 120 countries to stream some of the sport’s biggest competitions and matches.
Launching on 6 March 2026, the agreement arrives at a pivotal moment for padel’s global expansion, with major events scheduled throughout the year and participation surging across Europe, Africa and Latin America.
For fans, the partnership means unprecedented access to world-class content. For federations and sporting bodies, it offers scale and visibility. And for Discover Sport™, it marks another step in the platform’s rapid global growth.
A Sport Experiencing Global Explosion
Padel has evolved into one of the fastest-growing sports on the planet. With an estimated 35 million players worldwide and a market value of approximately €2 billion, the sport has rapidly expanded beyond its European roots to reach new audiences across multiple continents.
According to Stephen Watson, founder of Discover Sport™, the appeal of padel lies in its accessibility and social nature.
“Padel is by far a global connector,” he explains. “It’s fast to learn, social by design, mixed-gender and intergenerational. These qualities have driven extraordinary growth in key markets.”
Countries such as Spain, Argentina and Italy remain central to the sport’s competitive ecosystem, producing elite players and hosting flagship events. At the same time, emerging markets like South Africa are experiencing rapid growth, with new courts, clubs and competitions appearing across the country.
“In South Africa, we’ve already seen a strong appetite for padel content,” Watson says. “This partnership allows us to take what’s working locally and amplify it globally.”
500+ Hours of Premium Padel Content
Through the agreement with Padel Time TV, Discover Sport™ users will gain access to more than 500 hours of premium padel programming, including some of the sport’s most prestigious competitions and showcase events.

A Platform Built for Global Sports Discovery
Since launching in mid-2025, Discover Sport™ has focused on a simple mission: making global sport easier to access and discover.
Traditional broadcast networks often prioritise only the biggest leagues and competitions. As a result, many sports — particularly emerging ones — struggle to reach new audiences.
Discover Sport™ aims to change that by acting as a digital aggregator that connects fans with sports content from around the world.
The platform has already established partnerships across several racquet sports, including collaborations with the Tennis South Africa and the Badminton World Federation.
“Whether it’s tennis, badminton or now padel, our role is to remain a reliable, inclusive global aggregator that helps sport cross borders,” Watson says.
Padel’s Moment on the Global Stage
For Arnaud Verlhac, co-founder of Padel Time TV, the partnership arrives at exactly the right moment in the sport’s evolution.
“Padel has reached a moment where global visibility matters more than ever,” he says. “Partnering with Discover Sport™ allows us to reach new audiences in markets where padel is accelerating.”
As the sport continues to expand into new territories, accessible broadcasting and digital engagement are becoming essential tools for growth.
From South Africa to the World
Despite being a relatively young platform, Discover Sport™ has already built a presence in more than 30 countries, connecting sports fans, federations, ambassadors and content partners through its digital ecosystem.
At its core, the company positions itself as a community-driven sports platform — one that focuses on connection, participation and global accessibility.
“Every partnership we announce is measured against this mission,” Watson says. “Our collaboration with Padel Time TV is another clear signal that our platform is reshaping how global sport is discovered, shared and experienced.”
With the service going live on Friday, 6 March, fans worldwide will soon have front-row access to the energy, strategy and spectacle that define one of the world’s fastest-growing sports.
