Johannesburg’s summer soundtrack has a new date! Y’s LYFE has officially moved to Sunday, 29 November 2026, bringing its celebration of music, culture and creativity closer to the start of December.
The venue remains the same, but the date brings a fresh opportunity to gather your favourite people, pull out the summer fits and enjoy a day of live music. With sunshine, shorts, shades and great company on the agenda, LYFE is inviting festivalgoers to stretch the weekend a little longer.
The message is simple: everyday is Friday this summer!
A New Date, A Summer Soundtrack
LYFE is a platform dedicated to fresh talent, culture, creativity and the sounds that bring people together. Its 2026 edition promises a celebration of South African music, with artists spanning soulful performances and dance-floor favourites.
The announced lineup features Sjava, Shekhinah, Thando Zide, Sun-El Musician, Umzulu Phaqa, Lusanda, Yolophonik, FIF_LAAA, Just Mo and Fae Fae.
From singing along to familiar favourites to moving to the rhythms of homegrown talent, the festival is gearing up for a day centred on music and shared experiences.
With the new date now confirmed, festivalgoers can start planning their outfits, organising their crews and preparing for a summer gathering at Marks Park.
Important Lineup Update: AMA’s Performance
While the festival’s new date brings fresh anticipation, there is also an important lineup update for fans who were looking forward to AMA’s performance.
According to Y’s Marketing Manager Fanele Moloi, the new date clashes with AMA’s schedule, meaning she will be unable to perform at LYFE this year.
“With the new date clashing with AMA’s schedule, she is unable to perform at LYFE this year. We sincerely apologize to all her fans who already purchased tickets. We are currently in discussions with her team to secure a date for 2027 which we will share as soon as it has been finalised,” stated Moloi.
The organisers say discussions are underway with AMA’s team to secure a performance date in 2027. Further details will be shared once the date has been finalised.
What Happens to Existing Tickets?
For festivalgoers who have already secured their tickets, the organisers have outlined arrangements designed to accommodate the date change.
All existing ticket holders will automatically receive tickets for the new LYFE date. They will also receive free access to AMA’s performance next year.
For those who cannot attend on 29 November, there is another option. Ticket holders who prefer not to attend the rescheduled festival can request a full refund through Webtickets.
These arrangements give existing ticket holders the choice to attend the rescheduled event or seek a refund if the new date does not suit their plans.
Save the Date: LYFE Returns on 29 November
Although the date has changed, the organisers are keeping the festival’s summer spirit firmly in place.
LYFE will take place at Marks Park in Johannesburg on Sunday, 29 November 2026. Doors open at 10:00 and the event runs until 18:30.
Festivalgoers can start preparing now: save the date, rally the group chat, pack the picnic blanket and get those summer outfits ready.
The countdown to LYFE continues, with South African music, familiar faces and a day of summer celebration waiting at Marks Park.
