Taking place from September 30 – October 1, The Standard Bank Luju Food & Lifestyle Festival is held annually at House On Fire, a unique, iconic performance venue featuring an eclectic mixture of diverse yet harmonious architectural and cultural art styles from around the world.

The Standard Bank Luju Food & Lifestyle Festival ia a family-friendly feast of culinary exploits, connoisseur-led premium wine and whiskey showcases, fine music, colourful fashion and wholesome entertainment.  Through culinary showcases by celebrity chefs, and high-end fashion designs inspired by the Luju ethos “A Return to the African Future”, the festival celebrates the sophistication and elegance of African vintage style, creative design and delicacies. Come and Eat, Sway, Love and rejoice in our heritage and culture, in all its afro-futuristic boldness.

Tickets are still available on the official website, as well as a range of travel and accommodation options. Make sure you have booked your tickets, your accommodation via the website or directly with hotels nearby.

Getting There
Getting to Malkerns is an easy drive from Johannesburg or nearby for those wishing to drive themselves, but for those looking for a simple all-in-one solution, Travel Packages that include transport and on-site camping accommodation are also available.

House On Fire is located between Mahlanya and Malkerns on the MR27 road, off the MR103, about 23km from the capital city, Mbabane.

Those entering through border posts will need a valid passport to enter the Kingdom of Eswatini. You may also require an entry visa. Please check with your Embassy or the Eswatini Tourism Authority website for visa requirements.

Although the Standard Bank Luju Food & Lifestyle Festival does not require proof of vaccination against Covid-19, Eswatini requires travellers to provide a a valid Covid-10 vaccination certificate or a negative Covid-19 PCR test result, taken not more than 72 hours before crossing the border, for entry. Travel Packages
The Standard Bank Luju Food & Lifestyle Festival has partnered with a number of travel companies who can provide both transport and accommodation at the festival. Please note that these packages do NOT include festival tickets and these will need to be purchased separately on the Luju website.

Accommodation & Camping Options
There are a range of hotels nearby to the House on Fire venue, but for the immersive Standard Bank Luju Food & Lifestyle Festival experience we recommend camping on site with one of the many camping options available.

The Beehive is a camp of 60 nylon tents (2m x 2m x 1.2m in height) located in an open field 5 mins walk from the main festival arena. It has a shared ablution block with hot showers and clean flush toilets. Included is one tent which sleeps two people, two comfortable high-density foam mattresses and two pillows (you need to bring your own blanket or sleeping bag).

This campsite is in the official on-site festival campsite provided by All Out Africa. Parking is available very close by, approximately 50m away.

The Canvas Camp has 40 standard-sized tents (2m x 2m x 1.2m height) and is located in a semi-shaded exclusive area close to a forest. It has a shared ablution block with hot showers and clean flush toilets. This private camp is spacious, has a relaxed atmosphere and is 5 mins walk from the main festival arena. Included is one tent, two comfortable high–density foam mattresses and two pillows (you need to bring your own blanket or sleeping bag).

Additionally, the Canvas Campoffers 18 larger tents (2.5m x 2.5m x 1.9m height) for those seeking a little more space. Each tent has power with a bed-side lamp and power plug points. This private camp is spacious, has a relaxed atmosphere, and is 5 mins walk from the main festival arena. Included is 1 tent, 2 comfortable high–density foam mattresses, 2 pillows (you need to bring own blanket or sleeping bag), bed-side table, bedside lamp and power point.

This campsite is also in the official onsite festival campsite provided by All Out Africa.

Parking is available very close by, approximately 50m away.
