October is bringing a fresh dose of fashion, luxury and lifestyle to Hyde Park Corner. From the arrival of French fine jewellery house RedLine Paris to the return of South African Fashion Week, the Johannesburg shopping destination has a calendar filled with new experiences.
There is also an early start to Christmas shopping, a newly refurbished store and an evening dedicated to exceptional spirits. Add extended Sunday trading hours and a new rooftop parkade, and there are even more reasons to plan a visit.
“October is always an exciting time at Hyde Park Corner as we head towards the festive season,” says Tevye Block, General Manager of Hyde Park Corner.
“We’re delighted to welcome the first RedLine Paris boutique on the African continent to the centre, particularly as it brings such a distinctive jewellery offering to Johannesburg. With South African Fashion Week returning, some fantastic events on the calendar and new reasons to explore our stores, we’re looking forward to a busy few weeks.”
Here is what shoppers and fashion lovers can look forward to this month.
RedLine Paris brings a touch of French luxury
<text>There is a new name in fine jewellery at Hyde Park Corner, and it comes with a story woven around diamonds, gold and a delicate thread.</text>
RedLine Paris has opened its first African boutique at the centre, bringing the French jewellery house’s signature diamond-on-a-thread creations to Johannesburg.
Founded in Paris in 2004, the brand combines precious diamonds and 18-carat gold with a delicate thread inspired by the symbolism of the red thread across cultures. It is associated with love, protection, luck and connection, giving the jewellery meaning beyond its sparkle.
RedLine has also attracted an international following. Sarah Jessica Parker, Beyoncé and Victoria Beckham are among the famous names who have worn its pieces.
Designed to resemble an elegant Parisian apartment, the new boutique offers bracelets, necklaces, rings and earrings. Pieces can be worn individually or layered to create a personal look.
Where to find it: Shop UM59, Hyde Park Corner.
Christmas shopping starts now
For those who prefer to get ahead of the festive rush, Nicholas & Co has moved to a new home on the Upper Mall.
The popular Christmas emporium brings its collection of festive decorations, décor and seasonal treasures to the new location. Shoppers can browse tree ornaments and finishing touches designed to make Christmas tables and celebrations feel special.
With December approaching, it is an opportunity to start planning the festive season before the busiest shopping period arrives.
Socrati unveils its refreshed store
Shoe lovers have another reason to explore the centre. Socrati has reopened following a refurbishment, welcoming shoppers into a refreshed retail space.
The store has its latest collections ready to explore. With warmer weather ahead, the new-season arrivals offer an opportunity to update your summer shoe line-up.
