The Western Cape’s biggest festival is back for another instalment and promises to bring on a bigger and exciting way to kick off the month of December, with leading fibre provider Vuma as this year’s Gold sponsor.

Three days of non-stop family entertainment await the community when the Mitchells Plain Festival kicks off on Friday, 2ndDecember. A host of events and activities to suit every interest is planned, including a cutest baby contest, Miss and Mr. Festival award, Glamorous Granny contest, comedy shows, local artists, DJ’s, competitions and Vuma’s very own stand showcasing My Community Connects talent.  There will also be loads of entertainment for the kids, including an amusement park, jumping castles, face painting, open air dance parties and so much more.

The first ever Mitchells Plain festival was staged in 2009 by Cycle of Life, a local entity on a mission to use community-based events to raise and increase awareness around issues affecting local and surrounding communities. The last instalment, which drew thousands of crowds from Mitchells Plain and beyond, was in March this year, following a COVID-induced hiatus.

“Mitchells Plain is an important community for Vuma, as one of the areas where we have substantial coverage of our Vuma Reach fibre network,” says Mathilda Robertson, Brand Manager at Vuma. “We are proud to partner with the Mitchells Plain festival, where residents will be able to connect and enjoy the wide array of activities”. This is our way of showing appreciation to the community for trusting and welcoming Vuma into their homes.

Vuma’s contribution will make it possible for the organisers to keep the entry fees as low as possible in an effort to make the event affordable and accessible to those in and around the community, even the less fortunate.

Don’t miss out on the festivities, join the Mitchells Plain Festival at Westridge Gardens, on 2nd – 4th  December 2022 from 09:00am. You can also win 1 of 5 VIP Vuma vouchers to the value of R1500 per person if you sign up with Vuma, simply SMS “Fibre Me Up” to 30871 before 18th November 2022.
