Some songs never fade.

They outlive trends, survive changing playlists and continue filling dance floors years after they were first released. They become memories—played at family braais, township street parties, late-night road trips, iconic clubs and unforgettable celebrations.

This November, Oskido’s Big Day Out 2026 is inviting South Africans to relive those moments once again.

The celebrated music pioneer has officially revealed the Phase One Headliners for this year’s festival, confirming Liquideep, B.O.P (Brothers of Peace) and Mdu as the first artists set to take the stage at Huddle Park in Linksfield, Johannesburg, on Saturday, 28 November 2026.

The announcement marks the beginning of what promises to be the festival’s biggest edition yet.

A Celebration of the Music That Shaped a Generation

Oskido’s Big Day Out has built its reputation on celebrating the artists and sounds that helped define South African music.

This year’s first wave of performers reflects that vision perfectly.

Leading the line-up is the award-winning duo Liquideep, whose soulful house music became a defining soundtrack for countless South Africans.

Joining them is Mdu, one of the pioneering names synonymous with South Africa’s dance music movement.

Completing the first announcement is B.O.P (Brothers of Peace), the influential producer and DJ duo comprising Bruce “Dope” Sebitlo and Oskido, whose contributions helped shape the country’s house music landscape.

Together, these artists represent an era that continues to inspire new generations while reminding long-time fans why their music remains timeless.

Returning Bigger Than Ever

Following previous successful editions, Oskido’s Big Day Out returns to Huddle Park with an expanded experience designed to celebrate both the past and the future of South African music.

This year’s festival will feature two stages, offering audiences an even broader musical journey across multiple genres.

Festivalgoers can expect performances spanning:

  • House
  • Kwaito
  • Amapiano
  • Hip Hop

The expanded format reflects the festival’s growing status as one of Johannesburg’s premier live music experiences.

More Than Just a Festival

For Oskido, Big Day Out has always been about far more than live performances.

It is about celebrating the music that continues to connect generations.

“Big Day Out has always been about celebrating the music that connects us all,” says Oskido.

“These are artists whose songs became part of our lives. They gave us classics that still fill dance floors today, and it’s only fitting that we honour their contribution while bringing people together to create new memories as we do every year.”

That philosophy has become the heartbeat of the festival, blending nostalgia with fresh experiences while creating a space where music lovers of all ages can celebrate together.

A Journey Through South Africa’s Musical Legacy

Audiences can look forward to an emotional celebration of South African classics.

From the soulful melodies that made Liquideep household names to the unmistakable grooves of B.O.P and the infectious energy of Mdu, the performances promise to revisit songs that have become woven into the country’s musical identity.

These pioneers not only defined an era but also helped influence many of the artists who continue to shape South African music today.

More Announcements Are Still to Come

The first headliner announcement is only the beginning.

Organisers have confirmed that additional headliners, surprise performances, lifestyle experiences and brand activations will be revealed over the coming weeks as anticipation builds towards November.

With more artists yet to be announced, this year’s edition is shaping up to be the biggest Big Day Out since the festival began.

Whether fans are returning to relive the soundtrack of their youth or discovering these legendary performers for the first time, Oskido’s Big Day Out 2026 promises an unforgettable celebration of South African music and culture.
