As someone who values both performance and aesthetics in a smartphone, the Huawei Pura 70 is a delightful blend of both. This device manages to pack impressive hardware and a sleek design into a package that stands out in the competitive flagship market.

First Impressions
From the moment I unboxed the Huawei Pura 70, I was struck by its elegant design. The 6.6-inch OLED display, with its smooth curved edges, is a visual treat. The phone feels premium in hand, thanks to its glass back and aluminium frame. Available in Black, White, and Pink, the matte finish on the back panel adds a touch of sophistication while also being resistant to fingerprints. The curved edges not only enhance the visual appeal but also contribute to a comfortable grip, making it easy to use one-handed.

Display Quality
The Pura 70 boasts a stunning 6.6-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2760 x 1256 and an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz. This makes for a vibrant and smooth visual experience, whether you’re gaming, watching videos, or simply browsing the web. The brightness ensures excellent visibility even under direct sunlight. The Kunlun glass protection adds an extra layer of durability, safeguarding the display against scratches and accidental drops.

Camera Performance
One of the standout features of the Huawei Pura 70 is its camera system. The triple-rear setup includes a 50MP Ultra Lighting primary lens, a 12MP telephoto lens, and a 13MP ultra-wide lens. The variable aperture on the primary lens allows for greater control over depth of field and excels in low-light conditions, producing detailed and natural-looking shots. The telephoto lens is perfect for capturing distant subjects with clarity. The ultra-wide lens adds versatility, making it easy to capture expansive landscapes or fit more into your frame.

Huawei’s new Ultra Speed Snapshot feature is particularly impressive. It enables the Pura 70 to capture fast-moving subjects with remarkable clarity, making it ideal for sports, wildlife, and other action photography. The combination of hardware and software ensures that motion blur is minimised, resulting in crisp, well-lit images.

Performance and Battery Life
Under the hood, the Pura 70 is powered by Huawei’s Kirin 9000 processor, paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage making the Pura 70 feels fast and responsive. Apps open quickly, multitasking is smooth, and even demanding games run without noticeable lag.

The battery life is another strong point. The 4900mAh battery easily lasts a full day of heavy use. When it’s time to recharge, the 100W wired charging and 80W wireless charging capabilities ensure that you can get back to full power in no time.

Software and Usability
Huawei’s EMUI 14.2 offers a smooth and feature-rich user experience, with animated wallpapers and seamless connectivity with other Huawei devices.

The Huawei Pura 70 is an excellent smartphone that offers a compelling mix of design, display quality, camera performance, and battery life. For those who prioritise photography, the Pura 70 is a fantastic choice. It is a testament to Huawei’s ability to innovate and push the boundaries of what’s possible in a smartphone.
