Telemundo (DStv 118) has officially announced the premiere of its highly anticipated new telenovela, The Woman In Charge, set to debut on 26 January 2026. Airing every night at 10 PM, the series will keep audiences riveted until its season finale on 30 April 2026.

Led by a powerful ensemble cast and driven by a high-stakes storyline, The Woman In Charge places a fearless mother at the centre of an explosive narrative where survival demands intelligence, resilience and transformation.

A woman pushed to the edge

At the heart of the series is Gloria Guzmán, a woman who once appeared to have it all — a successful career, a devoted family and a beloved son. What should have been the happiest day of her life, marrying the father of her child, becomes a nightmare when hitmen storm the wedding and murder her groom.

From that moment, Gloria’s world collapses. She loses her great love, her family turns against her, the government confiscates her assets, the media vilifies her, and her late husband’s enemies come after her — demanding repayment for criminal dealings she never knew existed.

Forced into a ruthless fight for survival, Gloria is drawn into the dark and dangerous world of money laundering, determined to defeat her enemies at their own game in order to protect her son. Along the way, she is mentored by powerful crime bosses, whom she must win over using her two most dangerous weapons: her intelligence and her beauty.

A landmark cast and first-time leading roles

The series stars Fabiola Guajardo (Passion and Power) and Iván Arana (The Lord of the Skies) in their first leading roles on Telemundo, marking a major milestone in both actors’ careers. The cast is further elevated by a special appearance from Cristián de la Fuente (Valiant Love).

Supporting them is an impressive ensemble featuring Mauricio Henao, Andrés Almeida, Azela Robinson, Verónica Merchant, José María Galeano, Jorge Luis Moreno, and Yany Prado, with additional performances by Pepe Gímez, Julieta Grajales, Sara Corrales, Uriel del Toro, Jesús Moré, Guillermo Quintanilla, Gary Centeno, Laura Vignatti, Sachi Tamashiro, and Dante Aguiar.

Crafted by industry heavyweights

Produced by Telemundo Studios, The Woman In Charge is written by José Vicente Spataro and directed by Mauricio Corredor, Mauricio Meneses, and Laura Marco. The visual storytelling is led by photography directors Juan Pablo Ambrís, David Fernández, and Alejandro Tellez, with Juan Santiso serving as production designer.

The series is executive produced by Mónica Vizzi for Telemundo, bringing together a creative team known for delivering compelling, high-quality drama.

A must-watch premiere

Blending suspense, emotional depth and relentless twists, The Woman In Charge explores how far a woman will go when everything is taken from her — and what she becomes when survival leaves no room for weakness.

The Woman In Charge premieres exclusively on Telemundo on 26 January 2026, with new episodes every night at 10 PM, concluding on 30 April 2026.

Telemundo is available on DStv Channel 118.
