Zakes Bantwini is capping off the most incredible year of his storied career in style. Since winning two South African Music Awards (SAMAs) in September, the veteran dance DJ and producer was recently nominated for a Grammy award for “Bayethe”, his stellar collaboration with South African flautist and producer Wouter Kellerman and “Jerusalema” star Nomcebo Zikode.

Never one to take his foot off the pedal, Zakes has now relaunched Studio, his new lifestyle venue located at the world-famous luxury Cape Town hotel, The Rockefeller. Studio is a lifestyle venue that speaks to an audience of over 23’s that are upwardly mobile young professionals and revellers that enjoy well curated lifestyle experiences. Guests in attendance at the star-studded launch last Sunday included the likes of Shekhinah, Nandi Madida, Khaya Dlanga and Barbielicious.

“Studio is a unique experiential destination venue that offers guests the freedom to connect and indulge however they choose, within the safety of The Rockefeller venue,” explained Sibo Mhlungu, who’s Zakes’ business partner and manager. “Studio is the ideal destination for your entertainment needs, brand activations, private events, album launches, listening sessions and corporate events. There is secure parking available within the hotel’s footsteps and the venue also conveniently offers patrons the option to utilise hailing taxi companies if they’ve had a bit too much to drink.”

Comprising 395 expertly designed luxury apartments spread over 18 storeys and located on the Cape Town Foreshore, The Rockefeller is one of Cape Town’s most impressive destinations. With its comprehensive list of in-house amenities, it’s the perfect foundation for residents as well as short or long-stay visitors. Apart from the launch of Studio, Zakes was this weekend joined by Sun-El Musician and Shimza as he hosted Mayonie Summer Block Party at one of his other new venues, The Playground, Braamfontein.
