Houston, known as “The Voice,” and Turner, known as the “Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll,” both had powerful voices that captivated millions during the 80s and 90s.
Now, the Mother City’s very own Talitha Luiters and Ramaine Barreiro-Lloyd are bringing “Cape Town Divas Tribute to Whitney Houston and Tina Turner” to Kimberley. They will perform at Flamingo Casino on Saturday, 28 December 2024. Talitha, Cape Town’s latest singing sensation, will hit the high notes of Houston, while Ramaine will rock Turner.
Talitha has been singing since the age of three and made her first TV appearance on SABC’s Expresso in 2017. She has been active in the local music scene and recently sang the national anthem at the Spinning Championship Launch Gala Dinner in Cape Town.
Ramaine, known as the ‘Tina Turner’ of South Africa, began performing at the age of five and starred in her first major production, ‘Bugsy Malone’, at the age of 9. She joined forces with Emo Adams, Alistair Izobell, and Luqmaan Adams to form the group ‘Nu Fancy’ at the age of 12, and they toured South Africa along with The Rockets and PJ Powers, and recorded an album. Due to her versatility, her performances include genres from across the board including R&B, Jazz and Rock ‘n Roll.
It’s time to put away the microphone used for “Karaoke Thursdays” at Flamingo Casino’s lively 129 Lifestyle Lounge and let the professionals entertain you for the one-night-only performance.
