African music is having a global moment.
From sold-out arenas and international collaborations to streaming records and growing influence across popular culture, the continent’s sound is reaching audiences like never before.
Now, a new platform is set to bring together the people driving that momentum.
FAME Week Africa has officially launched Music Week, a major new industry initiative that will unite three leading music events under one umbrella in Cape Town from 28 to 31 October 2026.
Designed for artists, creators, executives, entrepreneurs, rights holders, brands and industry professionals, Music Week aims to provide a comprehensive view of the modern music business while creating new opportunities for collaboration, networking and growth.
Three Events. One Powerful Vision.
Music Week introduces a unique format that allows delegates to experience multiple perspectives of the music industry through three distinct yet connected events.
The journey begins on 28 October with Muziki Africa, FAME Week Africa’s dedicated music industry conference.
The event will explore some of the most important conversations shaping the future of music, including rights management, technology, artificial intelligence, artist development, publishing, creator culture, live events, monetisation strategies and the growing global influence of African music.
For artists and industry professionals navigating a rapidly changing landscape, Muziki Africa aims to provide valuable insights into the opportunities and challenges ahead.
Celebrating Women Driving Music Forward
From 29 to 30 October, attention shifts to the inaugural Pretty Loud Summit.
Created as a platform dedicated to celebrating and empowering women in music, the summit will bring together artists, producers, songwriters, managers, publishers, executives, DJs and creatives from across the industry.
Over two days, attendees will engage in conversations focused on mentorship, collaboration, networking and industry development.
The summit reflects the growing recognition of the role women continue to play in shaping the future of African music and the importance of creating spaces where those contributions can be amplified and supported.
A Legacy Conference Returns
The final chapter of Music Week arrives on 31 October with Music Exchange.
Now entering its 16th year, Music Exchange remains one of South Africa’s most respected music industry conferences.
The event will bring together thought leaders and professionals from across the music value chain to discuss innovation, sustainability, rights management, business development and the future direction of the sector.
Its inclusion within Music Week creates a bridge between established industry expertise and emerging opportunities.
One Ticket, Unlimited Opportunities
One of the most attractive aspects of the new Music Week format is its accessibility.
A single ticket grants delegates access to all three events.
This allows attendees to move seamlessly between keynote sessions, networking opportunities, panel discussions, showcases and business meetings throughout the week.
The model is designed to strengthen collaboration across the African music ecosystem while providing greater value to delegates.
As African music continues to expand globally, industry leaders believe there is a growing need for spaces where creators and decision-makers can connect directly.
According to Martin Hiller, Portfolio Director of FAME Week Africa, the modern music industry is far more interconnected than ever before.
“Music is no longer operating in isolation,” says Hiller.
“Artists today are entrepreneurs, content creators, brands, rights holders, and global businesses. Music Week creates a platform where every part of the music ecosystem can come together to share knowledge, build relationships, and unlock new opportunities.”
Where Africa Meets the World
Music Week forms part of the broader FAME Week Africa programme, giving delegates access to an even larger network of creative industries.
Attendees will be able to connect with professionals from film, television, animation, fashion, entertainment and the creator economy.
The 2026 edition will also feature France as the Destination Focus Country, bringing a significant French delegation to Cape Town and creating additional opportunities for international partnerships, cultural exchange and business development.
The inclusion of global industry players highlights FAME Week Africa’s commitment to positioning African talent on the world stage.
Building the Future of African Music
The launch of Music Week represents more than a new event.
It reflects the continued growth of Africa’s creative economy and the increasing demand for platforms that connect talent, business and innovation.
By bringing together industry leaders, creators and entrepreneurs under one roof, Music Week aims to create meaningful conversations and practical opportunities that extend far beyond the conference floor.
With speaker announcements still to come and registration now open, anticipation is already building for what could become one of the most significant music industry gatherings on the continent.
For Africa’s artists, executives, innovators and entrepreneurs, Cape Town will become the meeting point where ideas, opportunities and the future of music converge.
One ticket.
Three experiences.
One industry.
And one powerful step forward for African music.
