Some journeys begin with a big decision. Others begin with a single step.

On 20 March 2027, Unlimited WalkFEST will return to James & Ethel Gray Park in Johannesburg for its fifth anniversary, bringing together a growing wellness community under the theme “Walk Your Why.” The vision is to welcome 5,000 participants for a day of movement, reflection, connection and celebration.

Organised within the Wisdom & Wellness community, the event marks five years of encouraging people to make wellbeing part of everyday life. What began as a shared walk has grown into a community experience where people can reconnect with their purpose, find joy and take an active role in their personal journeys.

Every Step Has a Story

A walk can mean something different to everyone. For one person, it may be an act of faith. For another, it could represent a promise, a fresh start or the courage to choose themselves again.

That is the heart of this year’s theme. “Walk Your Why” invites participants to reflect on what moves them forward and carry that intention into their everyday lives.

Walking also offers an accessible starting point for anyone looking to prioritise their wellbeing. There is no perfect starting point or complicated routine required. Sometimes, the first step is simply deciding to begin.

Unlimited WalkFEST turns that individual decision into a shared commitment to spiritual, physical, relational, mental and financial wellbeing.

Mpoomy Ledwaba, Founder of Wisdom & Wellness, says the event was created to remind people that wellness can begin with something as simple and joyful as taking a walk.

“You do not need to have everything figured out before you begin. Sometimes, the first step is simply choosing to show up for yourself,” says Ledwaba.

She explains that when thousands of people come together with their own intentions, walking becomes more than exercise. It becomes an opportunity for connection, celebration and mutual encouragement.

The aim is for participants to leave feeling supported and equipped to continue choosing their wellbeing long after the event ends.

Five Years of Walking With Purpose

Since its beginning, Unlimited WalkFEST has grown alongside the Wisdom & Wellness community. Its approach centres on making wellness accessible rather than treating it as something reserved for a particular type of person or lifestyle.

The 2027 event will bring this vision to James & Ethel Gray Park, where the goal is to welcome 5,000 participants into one shared space.

Beyond the walk itself, the experience will encourage people to identify what they are working towards and turn that intention into action. It is an opportunity to move together, reflect on personal goals and build meaningful connections with others.

As the event celebrates its fifth anniversary, the focus remains on the individual journeys behind every step and the strength that can come from pursuing wellbeing together.

The Journey Starts Before Event Day

The experience will extend beyond the park through the Wisdom & Wellness app, which will be live before Unlimited WalkFEST.

The platform will provide Private Members and GalPals with a central space to connect, prepare for the event and continue engaging with the community afterwards.

Members will be able to find Sunday Walking Club meeting points across more than 15 cities, connect with City Heroes and coordinate through city group chats. These features are designed to help people build relationships and maintain a sense of community beyond individual events.

The app will also bring monthly experiences together in one place. These include opportunities to fast and pray together, daily devotions, expert-led Tools Tuesday sessions, community conversations, events and direct links to the official Wisdom & Wellness podcast channels.

Through these initiatives, the community aims to make connection and personal growth part of everyday life, rather than something that happens only at organised gatherings.

About Wisdom & Wellness

Wisdom & Wellness is a personal growth and wellness community founded by Mpoomy Ledwaba. Its mission is to make wellness accessible across spiritual, physical, relational, mental and financial wellbeing.

Through membership, expert-led learning and shared experiences, the community encourages people to take ownership of their personal growth. Its initiatives include Book Club, Sunday Walking Club and in-person experiences that provide opportunities to learn, connect and develop supportive relationships.

The community provides tools, access and support while encouraging every member to own their journey towards wisdom and wellness.

With its fifth anniversary approaching, Unlimited WalkFEST brings that philosophy into focus through a simple invitation: understand your why, take the next step and remember that you do not have to walk alone.
