Orlando Pirates are bringing the spirit of Soweto to the world of football fashion.

On 24 October 2026, adidas and Orlando Pirates FC unveiled the club’s new third jersey for the 2026/27 season. Inspired by the landscape, character and generations that shaped the Buccaneers, the limited-edition design celebrates the deep connection between the club and its home.

More than a change of colours, the jersey tells a story of belonging, resilience and togetherness. Its bold graphics draw inspiration from Soweto, the community at the heart of Orlando Pirates since the club was founded in 1937.

Soweto’s Rooftops Tell the Story

At the heart of the new jersey is an all-over graphic inspired by the distinctive shapes of Soweto.

Scattered rooftops form the foundation of the design, representing the homes, families and communities that have shaped generations of Buccaneers.

Each rooftop carries a deeper meaning. Together, they represent stories of struggle and success, families growing up side by side, and a community united by a shared identity.

Bringing these elements together creates a visual tribute to the place Orlando Pirates calls home. It also reinforces the connection between the club and the generations of supporters who continue to carry its legacy forward.

The result is a design that places Soweto at the centre of the jersey’s identity.

A Striking Colour Palette Meets Iconic Club Identity

The new third jersey features a dark base colourway, brought to life by maroon, light purple, dusky orange and high-resolution red accents.

The adidas three stripes and branding are integrated into the overall design, creating a contemporary look that blends the brand’s sporting identity with the club’s heritage.

Taking centre stage is Orlando Pirates’ iconic skull and crossbones crest. Recognised across generations of Buccaneers, the crest remains a defining symbol of the club’s identity.

An EQT-inspired collar construction completes the look. A custom detail at the back of the neck adds a distinctive finishing touch.

Every element contributes to a jersey that draws on the past while presenting the club’s identity through a bold, modern design.

Built for Performance, Designed for Comfort

Beyond its visual appeal, the 2026/27 third jersey incorporates adidas performance technology designed for the demands of the game.

Its lightweight engineered fabric is designed to provide a comfortable fit and freedom of movement. The jersey also features CLIMACOOL+ technology, which helps manage moisture and improve breathability.

These features are intended to keep players cool and comfortable during high-intensity play.

The combination of performance-focused construction and a design rooted in local identity brings together two important aspects of modern football apparel: function and meaning.

From the Football Pitch to South Africa Fashion Week

The new Orlando Pirates third jersey is stepping into a cultural space beyond football.

Its first official appearance is scheduled for 24 October 2026 at South Africa Fashion Week, where it will take centre stage in a dedicated fashion showcase.

The presentation brings the club’s football heritage into the fashion world, highlighting the relationship between sport, design and cultural identity.

Fans will also be watching for the jersey’s first on-field debut. According to the announcement, further details about that appearance will be revealed in due course.

Where to Buy the 2026/27 Orlando Pirates Third Jersey

Supporters looking to get their hands on the limited-edition jersey will have several purchasing options.

  • From 25 October 2026: Available through the Orlando Pirates online store and physical stores.
  • From 30 October 2026: Launching through adidas South Africa and selected adidas retail and wholesale partners.

Fans should follow the club’s official channels for further updates on the jersey’s first on-field appearance.

A Jersey That Carries the Spirit of the Buccaneers

The 2026/27 Orlando Pirates third jersey is built around a story that reaches beyond the pitch.

Its Soweto-inspired graphics celebrate the homes, families and neighbourhoods that have shaped the club across generations. Its colours and detailing bring that story into a contemporary football design, while adidas performance technology supports the demands of the game.

For Orlando Pirates, the connection between the club and its home remains central to its identity.

With the new third jersey, that connection takes shape in a design created to be worn by the players, supporters and generations of Buccaneers who continue to carry the colours of Orlando Pirates forward.
