Disney has released the official trailer for “Camp Rock 3,” with the highly anticipated new movie set to premiere on 19 September on Disney Channel.
For South African viewers, the movie will air on DStv Channel 303 at 19:30 CAT.
The latest chapter brings together a new generation of campers with some of the franchise’s most recognisable faces, setting the stage for a story filled with music, competition, unexpected alliances, revelations and romance.
Back Where It All Began
In “Camp Rock 3,” Connect 3 finds itself facing a major problem.
The band has lost its opening act for an upcoming reunion tour.
There is only one obvious place to look for the next big thing.
Camp Rock.
When Connect 3 returns to the beloved camp, campers are given the opportunity to compete for the chance to open for their favourite band.
What begins as an exciting opportunity quickly becomes much more complicated.
As the campers compete for the coveted spot, tensions rise and friendships are tested.
Along the way, unexpected alliances form, revelations emerge and romances develop.
The result is a new Camp Rock chapter where the music takes centre stage, but the relationships between the characters could prove just as important.
A New Generation Steps Into Camp Rock
“Camp Rock 3” introduces a new group of characters to the franchise.
Liamani Segura stars as Sage, while Malachi Barton plays Fletch.
The new cast also includes Lumi Pollack as Rosie, Sherry Cola as Lark, Hudson Stone as Desi, Casey Trotter as Cliff, Brooklynn Pitts as Callie and Ava Jean as Madison.
But the camp will not be completely unfamiliar territory for longtime fans.
Returning to the franchise are the Jonas Brothers.
Joe Jonas returns as Shane Gray, Nick Jonas as Nate Gray and Kevin Jonas as Jason Gray.
Maria Canals-Barrera also returns as Connie.
The combination brings together a new generation of performers with familiar characters from the Camp Rock world.
Behind the Music
The movie is directed by Veronica Rodriguez, known for “The Slumber Party”, and written by Eydie Faye, also known for “The Slumber Party”.
The production comes from Disney Kids & Family, with choreography by Jamal Sims.
Tim Federle, known for “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series”, serves as executive producer alongside Joe Jonas, Nick Jonas, Kevin Jonas, Demi Lovato, Betsy Sullenger, Spencer Berman and Gary Marsh.
The production also includes a special thanks to Alan Sacks for his contribution to the “Camp Rock” franchise.
The Music Has Already Started
The return of Camp Rock is not waiting for the movie to arrive before turning up the volume.
“One Beat Away,” the first single from “Camp Rock 3”, is already available.
The song is performed by Liamani and the cast, giving audiences an early taste of the music from the upcoming movie.
The “Camp Rock 3” Original Soundtrack is also available to pre-save, pre-add and pre-order across selected platforms.
The digital soundtrack is scheduled to become available on 14 August, while the vinyl release will follow on 18 September.
That means fans can start getting familiar with the soundtrack before the movie’s premiere.
The Countdown to Camp Rock Begins
