On Saturday, 4 July 2026, the talented young leader was crowned Miss Pre-Teen Queen at the International Junior Miss South Africa (IJMSA) national pageant, held at The Capital Hotel in Mbombela, Mpumalanga.
The prestigious title marks another milestone in Esihle’s growing journey as a youth ambassador and pageant achiever, while bringing pride to both her current community in Brakpan and her hometown of Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal.
A Victory Built on Confidence and Purpose
Currently a learner at Brenthurst Primary School, Esihle stood out among contestants from across South Africa, impressing the judges with her confidence, intelligence and passion for youth development.
Winning the national title represents more than personal achievement. For Esihle, it is an opportunity to inspire other young people to believe in themselves regardless of their circumstances.
“To bring this crown home is indescribable,” says Esihle Mangwana.
“Standing on that stage, I carried confidence and identity. This title isn’t just about a crown, but an opportunity to show young girls from anywhere in South Africa that no situation can limit one’s potential. I want to use my platform to advocate for youth empowerment through the arts, as well as health and wellness education.”
Her vision reflects the values promoted throughout the IJMSA programme, where leadership, communication and community impact are placed at the heart of every participant’s journey.
Recognised as a Role Model
Esihle’s performance throughout the national competition also earned praise from Rodney Prins, Communication and Creative Director of International Junior Miss South Africa.
According to Prins, Esihle demonstrated the maturity, compassion and leadership qualities that define the organisation’s mission of developing confident, service-minded young leaders.
“Esihle is truly a role model to many young girls, which was evident during pageant week through her maturity and responsible way of thinking. She is an excellent advocate and does a wonderful job of making other girls feel comfortable with themselves. She is absolutely amazing.”

More Than a Beauty Pageant
International Junior Miss South Africa, widely recognised as “The Crown of Opportunities,” focuses on developing leadership, self-confidence and communication skills among young women aged 4 to 39.
Rather than emphasising traditional pageant standards, IJMSA celebrates academic excellence, talent, personal development and community involvement through a holistic and inclusive approach.
As a franchise of The Pageant Powerhouse, the competition features evening wear, Fun Fashion and interview categories, with no swimsuit competition required.
The organisation continues to empower participants through programmes that encourage leadership, service and personal growth while celebrating arts, culture and community engagement.
With her new national title, Esihle Mangwana now steps onto an even larger platform—one she hopes to use to champion youth empowerment, health and wellness education, and inspire young girls across South Africa to pursue their dreams with confidence.
