Tomorrow, FNB Stadium becomes the centre of a massive South African music celebration.

On Saturday, 19 September 2026, DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small will bring Scorpion Kings Live to the stadium, with more than 70 000 fans expected for a full-scale celebration of Amapiano, music, culture and entertainment.

But with a crowd of this size, the experience starts long before the first note.

Fans are being encouraged to plan their journey, arrive early, use official transport services and make sure their tickets and event-day essentials are ready before leaving home.

Here is what you need to know.

The Day Starts Early

The stadium gates will open at 12h00.

The pre-show will run from 13h00 to 18h30, followed by the main show from 19h00 to 22h30.

Fans are encouraged to arrive early to avoid queues and traffic while experiencing as much of the day’s entertainment as possible.

There is also an important entry cut-off to remember.

No entry will be permitted after 21h00.

That means anyone planning to arrive late should factor this restriction into their journey.

Expect a Massive Crowd

More than 70 000 people are expected around FNB Stadium, making traffic and congestion a major consideration.

For that reason, organisers are strongly encouraging fans to use public transport or official Park & Ride services wherever possible.

Planning how you will get home is just as important as planning how you will get there.

And fans have several official options.

Gautrain Has You Covered

Gautrain, the Official Transport Partner for Scorpion Kings Live, will provide a public transport option for concertgoers.

Fans can travel to Park Station and then use the complimentary Gautrain Bus service to FNB Stadium.

On event day, the buses will operate from 10h00 to 20h30.

After the concert, buses will transport fans from FNB Stadium back to Park Station.

The last bus will leave the stadium at 01h30.

The last Gautrain train from Park Station will depart at 02h00.

That gives fans an option for getting home after the concert, but planning ahead remains essential.

Rea Vaya Will Run Event Services

Rea Vaya BRT will also operate dedicated event services connecting fans from Soweto, the Joburg CBD, Alexandra and Sandton to FNB Stadium.

Before the event, buses from Thokoza Park and Indingilizi in Dobsonville will travel to Rea Vaya Soccer City Station at 15-minute intervals between 11h00 and 20h00.

Event buses from Ellis Park East and Ellis Park North will operate to FNB Stadium from 12h00 to 20h00.

Fans travelling from Sandton and Alexandra can connect through Rea Vaya services via the Joburg CBD.

Additional connections will also be available from Brenthurst and Orlando Stadium.

After the show, event buses will depart FNB Stadium from 23h30.

The last services to Thokoza Park and Indingilizi will depart at 01h30, while the final event buses from the Joburg CBD to Alexandra and Sandton will depart at 02h00 on Sunday morning.

Rea Vaya account-based ticketing cards are available at Rea Vaya stations for R30.

Fans are encouraged to load enough funds to cover their return journey.

Driving? Use Official Parking Options

Fans who prefer to drive can use the official Park & Ride service.

The service allows concertgoers to park at designated locations before using dedicated shuttle transport to and from the stadium.

Park & Ride tickets are available through Webtickets.

Fans are encouraged to buy these in advance rather than trying to find parking around the stadium on event day.

Those choosing to park at FNB Stadium must also purchase parking tickets.

Parking is limited but will provide a safe and secure option within the stadium precinct.

Arriving in Style

There is also an option for fans looking for a private transport solution.

Cabs Car Hire is offering Scorpion Kings Live ticket holders a 10% discount.

Fans can book online using the code SK10.

Don’t Buy Your Ticket at the Stadium

This is one of the most important details to remember.

There will be no ticket sales at FNB Stadium.

Tickets should only be purchased through the official platforms:

Webtickets and www.scorpionkings.live.

Fans are also being warned to be cautious when dealing with unofficial sellers and resale platforms.

Tickets bought through unauthorised channels, including Viagogo, may not be valid.

Organisers cannot guarantee entry for tickets purchased from unauthorised sellers.

So before heading to the stadium, make sure your ticket comes from an official source.

Music, Food, Fashion and More

Once inside, fans can expect more than a concert.

Scorpion Kings Live will bring together music, entertainment, food, refreshments, fashion and brand experiences throughout the event.

The musical offering will span Amapiano, Hip Hop, Maskandi, Lekompo and the broader South African music scene, with the Scorpion Kings at the heart of the celebration.

A long day at FNB Stadium is therefore being designed as a complete entertainment experience.

Security Has Been Increased

With more than 70 000 people expected, security is a major part of the event plan.

The same security company that managed security operations for the Chris Brown and Travis Scott concerts has been appointed for Scorpion Kings Live.

Security capacity has also been doubled.

According to the event information, the security operation includes:

  • More than 400 marshals, supported by dedicated security personnel
  • Security arrangements fully approved by the Joint Operations Committee (JOC)
  • A comprehensive SAPS and JMPD presence
  • Support from FNB Stadium Security teams
  • Extensive Emergency Medical Services (EMS) deployment for on-site medical care and rapid response

The organisers say the aim is to provide a safe, secure and enjoyable experience for everyone attending.

FNB Stadium Is Wheelchair Accessible

Accessibility is also part of the event planning.

FNB Stadium is wheelchair accessible, with wheelchair access available at all entry points and gates.

Fans requiring assistance are encouraged to arrive early and speak to venue staff when they arrive.

What You Can and Can’t Bring

Fans should keep their belongings to a minimum and have their valid digital event ticket ready when they arrive.

There are also specific rules around umbrellas and cameras.

Only flat-top umbrellas are permitted. Pointed or pointy umbrellas are not allowed.

And there is another important restriction:

Professional cameras are strictly prohibited.

When it comes to payments, formal vendors inside the venue will operate cashless.

Informal vendors will accept both cash and cashless payments.

Fans are therefore encouraged to bring a bank card or another suitable cashless payment method for purchases from formal vendors.

The Biggest Tip? Plan Before You Leave

For an event expecting more than 70 000 people, getting there is only half the journey.

Fans should know their transport option before leaving home, allow extra time for congestion, arrive early and use official ticketing and transport channels.

That preparation could make the difference between spending the day enjoying the experience and spending it worrying about queues, traffic or getting home.

A Major Moment for Amapiano

Scorpion Kings Live arrives as a major stadium celebration for DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small, bringing together fans and South African music across one of the country’s biggest stages.

With more than 70 000 people expected, the scale is unmistakable.

The music will stretch across Amapiano, Hip Hop, Maskandi and Lekompo.

The experience will extend beyond the stage into food, fashion, entertainment and brand activations.

And when the lights go up at FNB Stadium tomorrow, the focus will be on bringing thousands of people together for a celebration of South African music and culture.

Scorpion Kings Live takes place Saturday, 19 September 2026, at FNB Stadium.

Plan the journey. Get there early. Keep your digital ticket ready.

Then let the Scorpion Kings take over.
