Treat your mom at Wild Coast Sun

While there’s no need to wait for a special occasion to treat the loved ones in your life, having lunch with your mom on Mother’s Day is the perfect time to show your appreciation for all she’s done for you.

The four-star Wild Coast Sun Resort overlooking the Indian Ocean is the ideal place to spend an afternoon of relaxation and spoils. Executive Chef Georgina Hill and her kitchen brigade have designed a four-course buffet menu to suit all ages and palates.

Enjoy a red lentil and carrot soup with freshly baked bread, followed by a number of salad valley options including potato, butternut, Mexican corn and sweet and sour carrot salad.

For mains, Hill shows her vegetarian roots by producing a delicious spinach cannelloni and vegetable breyani, but ensures the meat and seafood eaters are not left unsatisfied with spit roast lamb, soya and honey pork roast, roast chicken, braised beef pie, baked hake and mussels. Being a short drive from Durban, Wild Coast Sun’s reputation for a delicious curry must be maintained with a lamb curry and rotis as well as chicken samoosa. Sides vegetables and a stir-fry station round off the ample offering – and dessert hasn’t even been served yet.

“The kids will love the waffle station with ice cream, while those who are more traditional will enjoy apple pie and custard or a choice of freshly-baked cakes,” said Hill. There are also mini milk tarts and Lemon Meringue, mousse cups and fresh fruit salad.

Extend lunch into an all-day affair by visiting the Mangwenani Spa before or after lunch, and treating mom to a body or foot massage, or a reinvigorating facial treatment.
