What’s on at Carnival City this April?

From the magic and marvels of the circus to the much-anticipated Keyshia’s Cole’s R&B soul coupled with the realness of hip-hop, from the very best of Afrikaans music to an uplifting Easter festival in between, Carnival City has something exciting planned for every weekend in April.

The best South African talent is right on your doorstep with Juan Boucher, Herman Kleinhans, Andriette Norman, Jan Rhaap, Tino, WG Nel, Twee, Nicholis Louw, Bibi, Ray Dylan. With several albums under his belt, Juan Boucher has more than 150 million streams making him one of the most popular artists in Afrikaans. Idols SA runner-up in 2007, Andriëtte Norman, is known for her powerful vocals and heartwarming songs. She takes pride in her powerful ballads and incredible vocal deliveries.

As one of the strongest rising stars in Afrikaans music, Jan Rhaap racks up thousands of listeners every month. His hits include “Ramskilpad”, “Jan Ek Kan Nie Dans Nie”, “Huisie In Die Bos”, “Maak Jou Maak(e)” and many more. The 2015 Afri-Visie winner Herman Kleinhans is known for his exceptional songwriting skillset and warm unique vocals. With his Due project TWEE and his solo career under Herman Kleinhans he has become a household name.

Ray Dylan is a well-known Afrikaans superstar who has also broken into the English market. With a natural feel for writing commercial Afrikaans music, WG Nel is set for even greater heights and is already showing himself as a force to be reckoned with, having made his debut in 2024. Zimbawean-born Tino grew up in an Afrikaans agricultural area and has adopted Afrikaans as his mother tongue. With this he has crept into the hearts of Afrikaans fans with his soulful lyrics, powerful vocals and general feel-good energy.

Worlds Away Journey to Circusland – 5 & 6, 12 & 13 April 2025

The thrill and excitement of the circus returns to the Mardi Gras venue at Carnival City over two weekends, by popular demand—because who doesn’t love the magic of the Big Top? “Worlds Away: A Journey to Circusland” is grander and more mesmerising than ever before.

Enter a world of mystery, wonder, and adventure with this family-friendly spectacle for all ages. Follow a brave little star on a daring quest through enchanted lands, stormy seas, and fiery fortresses, searching for what will make him truly shine.

A captivating tale of love and friendship is a visual masterpiece, Worlds Away features awe-inspiring performances, dazzling costumes, and breathtaking storytelling. Prepare to be enchanted at every turn in an unforgettable experience for the whole family.

As luck will have it, World Circus Day is celebrated on 16 April 2025, which is fitting for this performance under Carnival City’s Big Top Arena.

Moja Easter Festival – Saturday, 19 April 2025

Easter is a sacred time of the year which calls for an extraordinary gathering. That’s why some of the biggest names in gospel music will be coming to sing praises at the Moja Easter Festival 2025 in the Big Top Arena at Carnival City.

This unforgettable celebration of faith and music, presented by Moja LOVE (DStv 157), will set the stage for the most holy of days and fill the devout with the spirit in an uplifting and soul-stirring experience of worship.

The lineup includes Benjamin Dube, Rebecca Malope, Winnie Mashaba, Ntokozo Mbambo, Xolly Mncwango, Ayanda Ntanzi, Dumi Mkokstad and Sbu Noah.

Keyshia Cole Live in SA – Saturday, 26 April 2025

Keyshia Cole’s highly anticipated tour, Live in South Africa, has been rescheduled following the devastating LA fires in which the artist lost her home. She will appear on Saturday, 26 April 2025 at the Big Top Arena at Carnival City.

This tour stands as a celebration of resilience, love, and connection, and Keyshia can’t wait to bring her signature soulful sound to South Africa. Fans will have the opportunity to experience her powerful performance up close and personal. From her deep cuts to her chart-topping smash hits, Keyshia’s live show promises to deliver an emotional and unforgettable star encounter. Known for her heartfelt lyrics and commanding stage presence, Keyshia will perform much-loved favourites which showcase the depth and range of her incredible talent.

Tickets purchased for the original dates will be honoured at the rescheduled shows. For fans who are unable to attend the new dates, refund options are available.
