Johannesburg, South Africa – Get ready, Gauteng! Y, the province’s biggest youth radio station, is kicking off its first-ever First Touch Football and Padel Tournament on Saturday, 13 September 2025 at Marks Park Sports Club — and it’s going to be massive.

This isn’t just a sports event. It’s a full-day lifestyle takeover where 5-a-side football battles, fast-paced padel matches, and explosive live music collide in one unforgettable festival. Whether you’re a player, supporter, or just here for the vibes, First Touch promises pure energy from the pitch to the dance floor.

The Action on the Field & Court

From 12 PM to 5 PM, sixteen football teams will go head-to-head in a knockout-style 5-a-side tournament. Each 20-minute match is single elimination — one loss and you’re out — so expect fierce competition. The twist? Celebrity captains and special guest players will lead the squads, bringing star power to every goal, tackle, and save. Winners take home exclusive prizes, trophies, and bragging rights for the year.

On the other side of the festival, the First Touch Padel Tournament takes over. This fast-growing sport brings social matches, influencer showdowns, and interactive padel demos where fans can grab a racket and get in the game.

The Festival After Dark

When the sun sets, the lights go up and First Touch transforms into an electrifying music and culture experience from 5 PM to 10 PM. Expect:

  • 🎧 Live DJs dropping heat from the decks

  • 🎤 Live performances from SA favourites Ch’cco, Blxckie, and Tkcreedlion

  • 🍔 Food trucks serving the best street eats

  • 🍹 Fully stocked bars

  • 🎯 Games, brand activations, and giveaways

The entertainment lineup also features Y’s Club Y stars Thee Buhle, Shakes & Les, DJ Zan-D, GGoldie, Samba, and Legendary Crisp — keeping the dance floor moving all night.
