As the Official Champagne of Formula 1®, the iconic Champagne Maison continued its role in the sport’s prestigious 10-year Global Partnership between Formula 1® and LVMH during the FORMULA 1® MOËT & CHANDON BELGIAN GRAND PRIX 2026. The event also marked Moët & Chandon’s second consecutive year as Title Sponsor of the Belgian Grand Prix, reinforcing a relationship built on excellence, craftsmanship and shared emotion.
From the podium celebrations to an exclusive culinary experience inside the circuit, the Maison celebrated not only winning, but the teamwork, precision and passion behind every triumph.
A Celebration Shared by Drivers, Teams and Fans
Victory at Spa-Francorchamps is never an individual achievement. It represents the combined effort of drivers, engineers, mechanics and passionate supporters who make every race unforgettable.
At the 2026 Belgian Grand Prix, Kimi Antonelli, Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen celebrated their success as Moët & Chandon once again became part of Formula 1®’s most iconic tradition—the champagne celebration.
“At Spa-Francorchamps, victory has a special intensity for the drivers, the teams and the fans who share it,” said Sibylle Scherer, President and CEO of Moët & Chandon.
“At Moët & Chandon, our role is to craft celebrations and experiences worthy of that emotion: honouring the performance and the teamwork behind the victory, and making the shared moment even more unforgettable.”
A Legacy That Began in 1950
The connection between Moët & Chandon and Formula 1® stretches back to the very beginning of the FIA Formula One World Championship™.
Spa-Francorchamps has been part of Formula 1® since the inaugural championship in 1950, and it was during that same era that one of motorsport’s most enduring traditions was born.
Following Juan Manuel Fangio’s victory at the 1950 French Grand Prix in Champagne, Paul Chandon-Moët and Count Frédéric Chandon de Briailles welcomed the racing legend to Château de Saran, creating one of the earliest symbolic links between the Maison and Formula 1®.
Later that year, during the 1950 Reims Grand Prix™, Frédéric Chandon de Briailles spontaneously presented the race winner with a bottle of champagne. What began as a simple gesture evolved into one of the world’s most recognisable sporting celebrations—a tradition that continues to define Formula 1® podium ceremonies today.

Reimagining an Iconic Trophy
One of the highlights of the 2026 Belgian Grand Prix was Moët & Chandon’s tribute to its historic Silver Jeroboam legacy.
Thirty years ago, silver became synonymous with Formula 1® victory through two celebrated creations. During the 1996 and 1997 seasons, race winners lifted the Silver Jeroboam on the podium, while the Silver Trophy—a sculpted silver Jeroboam—was awarded at the end of the season to the driver with the most Grand Prix victories.
For 2026, the Maison introduced a contemporary interpretation inspired by this historic symbol.
The newly crafted Silver Jeroboam Trophy was unveiled inside a remarkable 1971 Mercedes-Benz 600 Pullman, a historic vehicle that has belonged to Moët & Chandon for decades and has welcomed distinguished guests to the Maison, including Formula 1® figures such as Alain Prost and Jean Todt.
By revealing the new trophy inside one of its most treasured vehicles, Moët & Chandon connected its rich heritage with a modern celebration of excellence.
The Out Lap Brings Fine Dining to the Circuit
The Belgian Grand Prix also marked the debut of The Out Lap, an exclusive hospitality experience co-created by Formula 1® and Moët Hennessy.
Designed as an intimate journey through Spa-Francorchamps, the experience blended motorsport storytelling, exceptional gastronomy and premium wines in a format unlike anything previously offered at a Formula 1® event.
Twelve guests travelled aboard a moving dining table through some of the circuit’s most iconic locations—from the summit of Raidillon and the base of Eau Rouge to the sweeping curves of Pouhon and the final metres before La Source.
At each stop, a former Formula 1® driver shared personal stories and insights connected to the circuit, allowing guests to experience Spa-Francorchamps through the eyes of someone who had raced there.
Champagne Meets Michelin-Starred Cuisine
The culinary journey was led by Benoît Gouez, Chef de Cave at Moët & Chandon, alongside Chef Yannick Alléno, the Maison’s Chef Ambassador and the world’s most Michelin-starred chef, who oversees 26 restaurants worldwide.
Together they created a menu designed specifically for The Out Lap, carefully pairing each course with Moët & Chandon’s celebrated cuvées.
The menu featured:
- Warm royale and fish roe paired with Brut Impérial
- Poached langoustine with mayonnaise, lovage and black lemon served with Grand Vintage 2016
- Wagyu beef, foie gras and glazed eel accompanied by Grand Vintage Collection 1996
“It was the best kind of creative challenge to tell the story of Spa-Francorchamps through our Maison’s cuvées and Chef Alléno’s cuisine, creating a dialogue between the precision of the circuit and the craft of champagne,” said Benoît Gouez.
“At this track, every stop has a story. Each pairing was selected to echo its emotion, transforming the tasting into a journey through place, movement and memory.”
Chef Yannick Alléno said the collaboration reflected the same qualities shared by both Formula 1® and world-class gastronomy.
“Formula 1® and gastronomy share the same culture of performance, built on precision, innovation and the strength of the collective,” said Alléno.
“Behind every victory, just as behind every exceptional gastronomic experience, there is a team, perfectly mastered gestures and unwavering attention to detail.”
Crafting Moments That Last Beyond the Podium
From honouring one of Formula 1®’s oldest traditions to introducing an entirely new hospitality experience, Moët & Chandon used the FORMULA 1® MOËT & CHANDON BELGIAN GRAND PRIX 2026 to celebrate far more than victory itself.
By blending history, craftsmanship, gastronomy and the spirit of motorsport, the Maison continued to reinforce its enduring place at the heart of Formula 1®, ensuring that every celebration remains as memorable as the race that inspired it.
