Some evenings are simply too good to rush. A beautifully prepared meal, a favourite cocktail, the right company and live music can turn an ordinary dinner into an experience worth lingering over.
This October, The 11th Floor in Bedfordview is inviting guests to savour that feeling with a programme of live performances set against the backdrop of Johannesburg’s skyline.
Pairing contemporary Mediterranean cuisine with live entertainment, the rooftop destination offers a setting for date nights, catch-ups with friends and relaxed Sunday evenings. With performances scheduled from Wednesday to Sunday, guests can plan their visits around a changing line-up of musical talent.
From soulful singing to violin and live guitar, the programme brings a different sound to the dining experience throughout the month.
Meet the artists setting the mood
The October line-up features four performers, each bringing a distinct musical background and style to the rooftop.
René Hunter: Soulful vocals with experience
With more than 20 years of experience, René Hunter brings a versatile soul voice to the microphone.
Her self-titled 2023 album draws on R&B and soul, featuring tracks including Each Tear I Cried and her rendition of Route 66.
Her performance adds a soulful dimension to the live music offering, making her part of a programme designed to complement an evening of food, drinks and conversation.
Hana Yim-Wahl: Classical talent meets contemporary sounds
Violinist Hana Yim-Wahl brings experience spanning orchestral performance and contemporary crossover music.
Her career includes performances with Andrea Bocelli, Michael Bublé and Dave Stewart. She also performs with The Scullery Quintet, whose sound blends classical music with jazz and pop.
Her musical background brings a different texture to the programme, highlighting the range of live sounds guests can experience at The 11th Floor.
Ntsiki Ntsele: A blend of jazz, soul and gospel
Ntsiki Ntsele brings together jazz, soul, gospel and electronic influences as a keyboardist and gospel recording artist.
His experience includes playing piano with AusTebza at the National Jazz Festival in Makhanda. His own releases include Psalm 27, featuring PREY.
With influences that cross musical styles, Ntsele adds another dimension to the October programme.

Guitarist and vocalist Costa Nicolas has more than two decades of experience and a repertoire spanning jazz, Latin American rhythms, rock, pop and R&B.
His performances range from easy-listening dinner music to golden oldies and upbeat favourites, offering versatility suited to different moods and occasions.
Together, the four artists bring varied musical influences to The 11th Floor, giving guests more reasons to return throughout October.
Make a night of it
The appeal of rooftop dining extends beyond the menu. Live music can shape the atmosphere, giving guests a reason to settle in, enjoy their surroundings and spend more time together.
At The 11th Floor, contemporary Mediterranean cuisine and a view across Johannesburg provide the setting, while the rotating performance line-up brings the entertainment.
Whether planning a midweek dinner, a Friday evening out or a Sunday gathering, visitors can follow the venue’s social media channels for weekly artist announcements and performance updates.
Because the artists rotate throughout the month, checking the latest line-up is the best way to plan an evening around a particular performer.
