Your legs are burning. Your breathing gets heavier. Every movement demands more effort than the last. Do you push through or call it a day?
That is the challenge facing fitness enthusiasts preparing for HYROX. And on Saturday, 14 November 2026, Body Action Gym in Bedfordview is giving you the chance to find out how ready you really are.
The gym will host a HYROX Physical Fitness Test (PFT), a timed challenge designed to help participants test their fitness before the official HYROX race at the end of November.
Whether you are an experienced competitor or just starting your fitness journey, this is an opportunity to put your preparation to the test.
Six challenges. One serious test of fitness.
The HYROX PFT is designed to challenge your strength, endurance and pacing. Expect a demanding combination of running, rowing and bodyweight exercises.
Here is what you will need to tackle:
- 1,000 m run
- 50 burpee broad jumps
- 100 stationary lunges
- 1,000 m row
- 30 hand-release push-ups
- 100 wall balls
The challenge is straightforward, but completing it takes determination. What feels manageable at the beginning can become much harder as fatigue sets in.
That is where pacing becomes important. Starting too quickly can make the later exercises more difficult. Participants will need to balance their effort while pushing through the physical demands of the test.
More than a workout
The Physical Fitness Test offers more than a tough training session. It gives participants a practical way to assess their current fitness and identify areas that need more work.
It is also an opportunity to experience the challenge of a timed event before race day. Participants can test their pacing, assess their endurance and get a clearer picture of their strengths.
The results can also help participants understand which HYROX race division may suit them best.
Importantly, the PFT is a benchmark, not a qualifying test. You do not need to pass it to prove that you belong in the sport. Instead, it gives you useful insight into your preparation and what you may need to improve.
For those already training for HYROX, it is a chance to put that work into practice. For newcomers, it offers a taste of the challenge and an opportunity to test their mental strength.
You do not need to be a member
You can take part even if you do not belong to Body Action Gym.
The event is open to the public, bringing fitness enthusiasts and training partners together to face the same challenge. Whether you are preparing for the official race or simply want to see what you can achieve, the PFT offers a chance to get involved.
You will need determination, a willingness to push yourself and a readiness to work hard.
The aim is not simply to finish. It is to learn more about your fitness, understand your limits and discover where your training can take you next.
