I reviewed a few products from the SKIN functional team to try and other than the brand being lovingly created in South Africa, it is vegan-friendly, fragrance, cruelty and alcohol-free, which already offers you the promise of this reputable and trusted South African skincare brand. Products are formulated with tried and trusted active ingredients and offers consumers the transparency we deserve.
In the package was a Peptides + Probiotic Lysate Tonic, Matrixyl + EGF + Peptides Serum, 4% Liposome Ceramide NP Moisturiser and Gel Lotion Sunscreen SPF50 for me to try.
Regulate Aging & Skin Microbiota
After cleansing my face in the morning I’d add a few drops of the Peptides + Probiotic Lysate Tonic to a cotton round and apply to my face. The product is light and soft on the face. It’s designed to enhance skin immunity, improve the balance between water and oil and regulation of the skin microbiota. It’s set to strengthen the skin microbial and immune barrier, normalising oil secretion and skin pH. This product is ideal for all skin types.
Collagen Plus
Then I add two to three drops of the Matrixyl + EGF + Peptides Serum before the moisturiser. Now anyone who knows me, knows that I NEED a good serum, and this one is a highly concentrated anti-ageing serum, formulated with Matrixyl 3000, Epidermal Growth Factor and 4 different powerful peptides. It applies lightly and absorbs easily into the skin, ideal for combination and oily skin which helps with finalises and wrinkles.
Impaired Barrier & Dry Skin Repair
The next step is to apply a generous amount of the 4% Liposome Ceramide NP Moisturiser. This is ideal for combination, dry and sensitive skin. This deeply nourishing, moisturiser, is formulated with high concentrations of Ceramide NP in a patented delivery system for enhanced penetration to strengthen the barrier and improve dry and dehydrated skin. Ideal for dry, flaky skin, the moisturiser doesn’t leave any residue after application, and absorbs easily into the skin, perfect for day and nighttime use.
Gel Lotion Sunscreen SPF50
Then one of my favourite sunscreens on the market – the Gel Lotion Sunscreen which offers Day-light protection will have you reconsidering all the other products you’ve used in the past. Forget that vampire-like white coating on your face, or the layer on your hands after application. Perfect for an active lifestyle this product works best when you apply a generous amount 15 minutes before sun exposure and use the spf as the last step in your morning skincare routine.
Overall, I think I have a new go-to range! The box was delivered with a guide on how to use the products, which takes the work out of caring for your skin.
