What’s on at Time Square this October?
October is shaping up to be a bumper musical month at Time Square. Not only will sax legend Kenny G be gracing the stage at SunBet Arena, just one day after South African superstar Francois van Coke and his friends rock out the venue, but the phenomenally popular Summer Walker will be headlining In The City on October 5, completing a mega three-date extravaganza covering multiple genres.
One of South Africa’s most iconic comedy brands, Blacks Only Comedy, marks an incredible 21 years on 11 October, and on Tuesday, 14 October.
Francois van Coke en Vriende – Friday, 3 October 2025
Back for the sixth time At SunBet Arena, the Francois van Coke & Vriende concerts famously feature artists and bands Van Coke has collaborated and released music with, making this not only unique but also the biggest night in SA rock.
This year, however, Francois decided to mix things up. He is a big fan of upcoming artist Booshle G and although they haven’t collaborated (yet?), he decided to invite Booshle G to join the line-up.
Another new face this year is singer-songwriter, Ryno Velvet. Ryno and Francois will be performing their hit single Aande from Van Coke’s latest album, Die Ruimte.
The Prince of Pretoria, Zaan Sonnekus, and Van Pletzen make a welcome comeback to this world-class production. Van Coke’s collaboration with Van Pletzen, Kakmal, is epic live and “the closest thing to Bohemian Rhapsody we’ve ever made,” according to Peach van Pletzen.
More Vriende for 2025 are Spoegwolf, Karen Zoid, Jack Parow, Fokofpolisiekar, Die Heuwels Fantasies, Tasché, Ryno Velvet and Hunter Kennedy.
This two-hour rock spectacular will be backed by Van Coke’s band, Die Gevaar.
