Cape Town families are about to experience a moment straight out of their favourite animated world as Bluey comes to life.

In an exciting announcement that’s sure to delight both kids and parents, CapeGate Shopping Centre will host a special Meet & Greet with the beloved characters Bluey and Bingo on Saturday, 21 March 2026.

For many young fans, it’s more than just an event — it’s a chance to step into a world they’ve grown to love.

A Real-Life Moment With TV’s Favourite Sisters

Taking place at Centre Court, the Meet & Greet will run across two sessions:

  • 10:00 – 12:00

  • 12:30 – 14:30

Families will have the opportunity to meet the iconic Blue and Red Heeler siblings up close, share a special moment and capture memories that children will treasure long after the day ends.

Parents are encouraged to bring their own phones, with assistants available on-site to help snap the perfect photo.

And the best part?

Entry is completely free.

Why Bluey Means So Much to Families

Since its debut, Bluey has grown into a global phenomenon — not just for children, but for parents too.

Created by Joe Brumm and produced in Brisbane, the series stands out for its heartfelt storytelling, humour and deeply relatable portrayal of family life.

Through the adventures of six-year-old Bluey and her four-year-old sister Bingo, the show celebrates:

  • Imaginative play

  • Family connection

  • Everyday parenting moments

  • Emotional intelligence in children

What makes the show even more special is its authenticity — drawing inspiration from real locations and even using the voices of the production crew’s own children.

It’s this warmth and honesty that has turned Bluey and Bingo into household names across the world.

More Than a Meet & Greet

The excitement doesn’t stop at meeting the characters.

CapeGate Shopping Centre is also hosting a Find Bluey & Bingo Competition, giving visitors the chance to win:

  • A R500 Pep voucher

  • A R2000 CapeGate Gift Card

Entry details are available in-centre and across the mall’s social media platforms, adding an extra layer of fun for families exploring the space.

Plan Ahead for the Big Day

With high turnout expected, families are encouraged to arrive early to avoid long queues.

Bluey and Bingo will take short comfort breaks during the sessions, including a scheduled 30-minute break at 12:00, ensuring the experience remains enjoyable for everyone.

According to Zoë Enslin, the goal is simple:

To create a shared family moment filled with joy.

“We know how much children love Bluey and Bingo, and we wanted to create a special free-to-attend experience that families could enjoy together.”

A Day of Joy, Laughter and Connection

In a time where meaningful family moments matter more than ever, this event offers something refreshingly simple — time together.

A hug from a favourite character.
A photo that becomes a memory.
A day that feels a little more magical.

For Cape Town families, 21 March 2026 won’t just be another day at the mall.

It will be a day where imagination meets reality.
