In an industry where opportunity often meets preparation behind closed doors, a powerful gateway has just opened — and it could redefine the future of African storytelling.

FAME Week Africa has officially announced the opening of submissions for its highly anticipated 2026 Project Pitch Sessions, inviting Africa’s most visionary creators to step forward, be seen, and be heard on a global stage.

This is more than a submission call.
It’s a signal.
Africa’s stories are not waiting anymore — they are rising.

Where African Creativity Meets Global Power

Set against the vibrant creative pulse of Cape Town, the Project Pitch Sessions are designed as a high-impact platform where ideas don’t just live — they evolve into opportunity.

From feature films and documentaries to formats and series, both scripted and non-scripted, creators across the continent are being invited to present their work in a curated, high-stakes environment built for one purpose: connection that converts into real industry deals.

Submissions are officially open and will close on 12 June 2026, with selected projects announced on 7 September 2026. Those chosen will step into the spotlight during live pitching sessions taking place from 28–30 October 2026 at FAME Week Africa.

Behind Closed Doors — Where Deals Are Made

What sets these sessions apart is their exclusivity.

These are not open-stage presentations. They are closed pitch sessions — carefully curated, behind-the-scenes engagements where selected creators present directly to top-tier decision-makers.

Broadcasters.
Streamers.
Distributors.
Producers.

All in one room.

This is where ideas are tested, refined, and potentially greenlit.

It’s a rare space where creators can share not just their stories, but their vision and business case, receiving immediate feedback while building relationships with partners actively searching for the next big hit.

A Platform Built to Move Stories Forward

At the heart of this initiative is MIP Africa, the content and co-production market within FAME Week Africa that continues to position itself as a critical bridge between African creators and global buyers.

Here, storytelling is not just celebrated — it is activated.

The Project Pitch Sessions go beyond traditional networking. They are designed to accelerate the journey from concept to commission, turning raw ideas into funded productions and global releases.

The World Is Watching — And Listening

According to Martin Hiller, the impact of these sessions is already being felt across the industry:

The greenlighting of projects through past editions reflects not only the quality of African storytelling, but also a growing global appetite for authentic, diverse voices from the continent.

In other words — the demand is there.

Now, the opportunity is too.

Your Story Could Be Next

For creators, this is a defining moment.

A chance to move from idea to industry recognition.
From local voice to global stage.

Whether it’s a powerful documentary, a compelling series, or a groundbreaking film concept — this is where Africa’s next wave of global hits begins.

Key Dates to Remember

📌 Submissions Close: 12 June 2026
📌 Projects Announced: 7 September 2026
📌 Live Pitching: 28–30 October 2026 (during FAME Week Africa in Cape Town)

The Bigger Picture

For years, African stories have carried depth, richness, and cultural power.

Now, they are gaining something equally important — access.

Access to platforms.
Access to decision-makers.
Access to the world.

And as the doors open for 2026 submissions, one thing is clear:

🌍 Africa isn’t waiting to be discovered anymore… it’s ready to be heard.
