Step Into the Outdoors: NPL’s Yellow Army Trail Run Returns to Avianto Estate This April

As South Africa leans into the crisp, energising rhythm of autumn, a familiar call is echoing across the fitness community—get outside, move your body, and be part of something bigger. This April, NPL invites runners, walkers, families and even their pets to lace up for the highly anticipated Yellow Army Trail Run, returning to the scenic surrounds of Avianto Estate.

Set against the natural beauty of Syringa Park, the event promises more than just a run—it’s a shared experience built on community, movement and accessibility.

A Trail Run Designed for Everyone

Taking place on Saturday, 18 April 2026, the Yellow Army Trail Run continues to break away from the idea that fitness events are only for elite athletes. Instead, it embraces inclusivity with three carefully designed distances:

  • 2.5km walk – perfect for beginners, families, and casual participants
  • 5km run – ideal for those building endurance
  • 8km run – for more seasoned runners looking for a challenge

With ticket prices starting from just R50, the event remains accessible, reinforcing its reputation as one of the most welcoming entries on South Africa’s active lifestyle calendar.

A Morning That Moves With You

The event unfolds in a relaxed yet energised format:

  • Gates open: 07:00
  • 8km run: 07:30
  • 5km run: 07:40
  • 2.5km walk: 07:45

Participants are encouraged to arrive at least 30 minutes before their start time, allowing for a smooth and enjoyable experience from start to finish.

And in true Yellow Army spirit—pets are welcome at no cost, making it a genuine family affair where no one gets left behind.

More Than Fitness — It’s a Community Movement

What sets the Yellow Army Trail Run apart isn’t just the route or the setting—it’s the people.

“The Yellow Army Trail Run has built a real following because it’s genuinely for everyone—even your four-legged family members,” says Cherrie Blackmore. “You don’t have to be a competitive runner to show up—you just have to want to get outside and be part of something.”

That philosophy has helped NPL transform the Yellow Army series into a growing national movement, drawing participants from all walks of life—first-timers, fitness enthusiasts, and seasoned athletes alike.

Nature, Movement and Meaningful Moments

Set within the lush landscapes of Avianto Estate, the trail offers a refreshing escape from the city’s pace. Whether you’re chasing a personal best or simply soaking in the scenery, the experience delivers something deeper—a reminder that movement doesn’t have to be complicated to be powerful.

It can be as simple as showing up, taking that first step, and sharing the journey with others.

Secure Your Spot

Tickets are now available online via the official NPL website, with limited availability expected as the event draws closer.

Whether you’re walking, running, or just there for the vibe, the message is clear:
This is your moment to reconnect—with nature, with community, and with yourself.
