Johannesburg came alive with music, culture and connection on Saturday, 1 August, as thousands of music lovers gathered at Huddle Park for the inaugural Scatterlings Music Festival.
The debut festival brought together some of South Africa’s most celebrated artists for a day-long celebration of music and heritage. It also marked a significant new chapter for the Scatterlings project, following the release of the album just one day earlier.

Released on Friday, 31 July, the Scatterlings album is a collaborative project curated by Jesse Clegg and Msaki.
The project brings together some of South Africa’s most celebrated musicians to reimagine the iconic songs of Johnny Clegg for a new generation.
