The Luxurious Marble Circus in Numbers: Where 16,000 Guests Meet a World of Wonder

What does it take to build a festival where champagne flutes, pyrotechnics, fine dining, music, fashion and imagination collide?

At The Luxurious Marble Circus, the answer can be measured in thousands.

Thousands of guests. Thousands of moments. Thousands of details working quietly behind the scenes to make two days of extravagance feel effortless.

Returning on 26 and 27 September, The Luxurious Marble Circus is preparing for another spectacular chapter across more than 75,000 square metres of festival grounds, with twelve hours of experiences unfolding across each day.

After two sold-out seasons, the festival is once again bringing together food, music, fashion, entertainment, design and purpose.

But the numbers tell a story of their own.

16,000 guests. Two days. One extraordinary playground.

The festival expects 16,000 guests, with 8,000 revellers per day.

They will arrive ready to eat, sip, dance, explore, dress up, discover and surrender to what the festival calls Evophoria.

If 2025 established The Luxurious Marble Circus as one of South Africa’s most ambitious and artfully produced festivals, 2026 is set to expand the experience while preserving the intimacy, detail and wonderfully unusual character that helped create its following.

And then there are the spaces.

25 brand worlds built for play

Forget the traditional festival branding exercise.

This year, 25 brand spaces will transform Ground The Venue into a collection of experiences designed for far more than visibility.

Brand partners are invited to build worlds where guests can linger, interact and create memories.

There is the Investec Wheel of Wonder, the Whimzalicious Wine Garden, Moët & Chandon, the Savanna Dry District, 947, Johnnie Walker, Don Julio, Country Road, Samsung, Mercedes and Heineken House, among others.

Each space adds another layer to the festival’s larger fantasy.

It is a festival where wandering is part of the experience because you never quite know what might be waiting around the next corner.

33,000 dishes: the feast behind the fantasy

Luxury is not just something to look at.

At The Luxurious Marble Circus, it is also something to eat.

This year’s festival is set to serve 33,000 dishes, giving food lovers more choice, more menus, curated canapés, Pantry-inspired offerings, finger food, soft-serve, sushi and desserts.

Behind that feast is a sizeable culinary operation.

Chef David Higgs leads a team of 144 culinary experts per day, supported by 86 waiters and 180 bar staff.

Then comes the tableware.

More than 38,000 pieces of crockery and cutlery — weighing approximately eight tonnes — will be used across the festival.

Guests will also drink from more than 40,000 recycled pink LMC cups.

In other words, even the details have their own numbers.

240 musicians and acts bring the spectacle to life

Food may fuel the festival, but music and performance provide its heartbeat.

Across 22 hours of entertainment, The Luxurious Marble Circus will feature 240 musicians and astonishing acts, delivering performances from noon until close.

And the stage itself is a spectacle.

The pink centrepiece measures 68 metres wide, 22 metres deep and 24 metres high.

Creating it is an exercise in imagination, design and engineering.

The stage represents 584 hours of stage design and 74 hours of dedicated stage build time.

Then come the fireworks.

Across the two days, there will be 2,600 pyrotechnic cues.

That is an extraordinary amount of choreography hiding behind what, for a guest, may simply feel like one unforgettable moment.

Four pillars give the luxury a legacy

For all its glamour, The Luxurious Marble Circus is also built around something designed to last beyond the festival weekend.

Now in its third year, LMC Legacy continues to bring partners together around the idea that creating enduring worth means investing in people, ideas and opportunities that can continue creating value beyond the moment.

This year, beneficiaries are set to receive R1.1 million in contributions from Legacy partners.

The programme is guided by four purpose-filled pillars:

  • Feed More Mouths
  • Fuel More Magic
  • Favour More Fashion
  • Foster Sustainability

Its ambitions include quadrupling food garden yields, building sustainable fashion and creative futures, and exceeding 80% waste diversion at the event.

It is a reminder that a festival can create memories in the moment while also attempting to create impact that remains after the lights go down.

A year of work behind two days of magic

Perhaps the most impressive number is the one guests will never see.

More than 70 full-time staff across Grid Worldwide, The Marble Group and G&G – The Goosebumps Company, alongside Grand Collaborator Investec, have dedicated a year to bringing this year’s festival to life.

A year.

A year of imagining, refining, planning, building, buying, wiring, polishing, pouring, rehearsing, styling and checking — then checking again.

Because the real trick behind an extraordinary festival is making thousands of moving parts disappear into the experience.

Guests see the finished fantasy.

Behind it is an enormous amount of work.

The arithmetic of wonder

The Luxurious Marble Circus may be surrounded by impressive numbers, but numbers alone cannot explain why the experience is designed to feel different.

There are 16,000 guests.

25 brand spaces.

33,000 dishes.

240 musicians and acts.

2,600 pyrotechnic cues.

40,000 recycled pink cups.

75,000-plus square metres of festival grounds.

R1.1 million earmarked for Legacy beneficiaries.

And an entire year of preparation.

Yet the festival’s real currency is something far harder to count: the unexpected gasp, the shared laugh, the perfect bite, the song that catches you off guard, the outfit that turns heads, the stranger who becomes part of the memory and that inevitable moment when someone looks around and asks:

“Wait, what is that over there?!”

That is the point.

The Luxurious Marble Circus does not simply want guests to attend a festival.

It wants them to enter a world.

And with its 2026 edition taking place on 26 and 27 September, the countdown to another two days of Evophoria is officially on.

Because some festivals are measured by attendance.

Some by stages.

Some by tickets sold.

The Luxurious Marble Circus?

Count the magic.

The Luxurious Marble Circus is a collaboration between The Marble Group, Grid Worldwide and G&G – The Goosebumps Company, with Investec as Grand Collaborator. Official Partner brands include Mercedes-Benz, Savanna, Heineken, Hennessy, Don Julio, Johnnie Walker, Moët & Chandon, Schweppes, Samsung, Country Road and 947.
