Rosebank Mall’s Pink Run Sets Sights on 3 500 Runners and R100 000 for Breast Health

One morning. One 5km route. Thousands of people in pink. And a fundraising target that could make 2026 the biggest Pink Run yet.

What began with around 900 participants in 2023 has grown into a much-loved Rosebank fixture, and now Rosebank Mall is challenging Johannesburg to take it even further.

The annual Rosebank Mall Pink Run returns on Saturday, 24 October 2026 at 7am, with tickets officially on sale and an ambitious target for this year.

The goal? 3 500 participants and R100 000 raised for breast health organisation I Love Boobies.

Last year, 3 100 people took part and helped raise R66 000 for CANSA. This year, Rosebank Mall wants another 400 people on the start line — and a significantly bigger fundraising result.

More Than a 5km Run

The Pink Run is about participation, but its purpose reaches far beyond the finish line.

The 5km event gives people an opportunity to come together, keep breast cancer awareness visible and recognise the many individuals and families whose lives have been touched by the illness.

For I Love Boobies, the fundraising support will contribute towards the work the organisation does to reach more women through its breast health efforts.

And that makes every ticket count.

Adults can enter for R100, while children can participate for R80. A portion of every ticket sold will go towards I Love Boobies.

Participants can also make an additional donation when booking if they want to contribute more to the fundraising effort.

In other words, the impact starts before race morning.

From 900 to 3 100 — and Now 3 500?

The growth of the Pink Run tells its own story.

Around 900 people took part in 2023. By last year, that number had climbed to 3 100.

For Rosebank Mall, that growth reflects the willingness of the community to show up for a cause that matters.

“We have watched this grow from around 900 people in 2023 into an event that 3 100 people supported last year,” says Angelisa Gengan, Marketing Manager of Rosebank Mall.

She says the sight of people arriving in pink and ready to support the cause is what makes the event special to the mall.

Now, the challenge is to turn that momentum into another milestone: 3 500 participants and R100 000 for I Love Boobies.

Bring Your People. Wear Your Pink.

You do not have to be a serious runner to take part.

The 5km event is designed around participation, welcoming runners, walkers, families, friendship groups and colleagues.

For returning participants, 2026 offers another opportunity to help push an event they already know and love towards a new milestone.

For first-timers, it is a chance to join a community event where simply showing up can have a measurable fundraising impact.

And then there is the possibility of walking away with something extra.

A R25 000 Family Experience Is Up for Grabs

Every person who books a Pink Run ticket will automatically be entered into a draw to win a R25 000 experience for a family of four at The Hyde Rosebank.

The prize includes a two-night weekend stay in a Platinum Double Room for two adults and two children, breakfast and a R1 000 dinner voucher at Proud Mary.

The prize is valid until 31 December 2026.

So while the Pink Run is ultimately about coming together for breast health, one lucky ticket holder could also turn the experience into a memorable family getaway.

Johannesburg, It’s Time to Turn Rosebank Pink

The numbers are clear.

3 500 places.

R100 000 fundraising target.

One 5km route.

And one community effort capable of helping Rosebank Mall write the next chapter of the Pink Run story.

The event has already grown dramatically since its first 900 participants in 2023. Now, the invitation is open for Johannesburg to help take it further.

Whether you run, walk, bring your family, gather your friends or arrive with colleagues, your ticket becomes part of something bigger.

Rosebank Mall is calling on Joburg to show up, show support and help turn the 2026 Pink Run into its biggest chapter yet.
